Metaphase is brewed with oats and spelt for a fluffy, pillowy texture then double dry hopped with a pile of Citra & Nelson Sauvin. This killer hop combo leads to some luscious notes of orange, pineapple, papaya, & white grape with a beautifully dry finish.

Poured from a 16 ounce can dated 5-31-23 into a snifter.
Look- Straw, very hazy, creamy white head, above average head retention and lacing.
Smell- Clementine, white grape, pineapple, melon, pithy, high strength of scent.
Taste- Clementine, melon, pineapple, white grape, pithy, mildly astringent, between medium and high strength of flavor.
Feel- Medium body, average carbonation, moderately bitter, mild astringency, moderately creamy, moderately dry finish.
Overall- Another great NEIPA from this brewery. This beer provided a very enjoyable drinking experience. It’s astringency was not over the top, but was pronounced enough to slightly detract from my taste and feel ratings.

Drekker now available locally (awesome!), poured from a 16oz canned in the last month into a pub nonic. Hazy dull yellow/orange with a massive off-white head. Big tropical, juicy, fruity and floral characteristics, the Citra and Nelson are purely complementary; grapefruit, white white spritzer, Mimosa, peach, pineapple, orange juice, refreshing, easy-to-drink, mellow for 8%, just beautiful all around IMHO.

A great hazy IPA from a maker of great hazy IPAs and other brewed things.
It pours milky yellow with nice fizz. The aroma is offensive, it's that good. The juicy IPA taste is turned on full here and it finishes better than your food (at least mine).
Highly recommended. This is my favorite brewer, of late.

Overall: A very nice NEIPA here. Lots of green citrus, pine, tropical pineapple with some hints of white grape. Slightly vinous and tart with an otherwise clean, and relatively dry body. Still has that Drekker hop bite that I've gotten used to. A nice combination of Citra and Nelson.
2024-5 update: Haven't had this one since last year. Citra and Nelson can be a great combo. Really dials in here with strong Citra, green citrus and juicy pine. It's bright and the flavors pop. Quite surprised and impressed with Drekker Metaphase here. Far better than I remember and it comes together extremely well. This could be one of their best. (Rating: 4.24)

Drekker
Double Hazy IPA
Date: unknown
The beer is at least four months old, the date on the can was smudged. The temperature hovers around 48 degrees; I used a tulip glass for service. The pour created a frothy and airy one-finger bright white head with so-so retention. Little lacing was left on the glass after the slow dissipation. The color charts around SRM 4, pale straw with golden yellow hues. Haziness prevents clarity.
I smell mangos, pineapple, mangos, oranges, grapefruit, and pine when I first smell the beer. Nosing further, I detect biscuits, lightly toasted malts, crackers, and bread. The ingredients say there is spelt; having eaten that grain, I cannot perceive that.
A soft but bright hop profile makes this IPA unique. The hops are orange, pine, mango, pineapple, grapefruit, and floral. The malt characters are toasty, biscuity, bready, and cracker-like. Other subtle flavors are grass, herbal, and touch pharmaceutical.
The mouthfeel is pillowy and slightly tannic. The body is medium, the carbonation is slightly tamer, and the finish lingers pleasantly.
The soft yet firm flavor profile gives the beer a unique character. I am not a fan of this take on this style; however, I did enjoy drinking it.

6 months old. Can to tumbler.
Look: Pours a full and hazy yellowish orange with a white fine-pored head and a little lacing.
Smell: Ripe peach, apricot and a bit of orange. Lightly grassy.
Taste: Peach, apricot, mango and orange. Medium sweetness and a zesty, bitter finish.
Feel: Juicy and a bit creamy. Slightly sticky as well. Low carbonation.
Overall: Very solid DIPA that aged really well. Nice balance of peach, apricot and zesty citrus fruits. Nothing extraordinary but still a nicely crafted, good quality beer.

16oz can from Tavour. Hazy golden pour with a soft, fading white head. Aroma is normal for the style, fruity, citrus notes. Taste is some sweet, bready malts and juicy grapefruit peel. A little warmth at the finish.

A: The beer is very hazy pale whitish yellow in color. It poured with a quarter finger high white head that left a thin collar around the edge and lots of lacing down the sides of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of gooseberry are present in the nose along with notes of lychee and lime.
T: The taste follows the smell but has much stronger flavors of gooseberries and some additional hints of papaya. Little to no bitterness is perceptible.
M: It feels medium-bodied, juicy and a bit crisp on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This IPA has prominent aromas and flavors of gooseberries from the hops.

Vibrant orange juice, hazy ipa.
Pine, orange juice, mango. Healthy dose of bitter, dry hops on the finish that seems to be characteristic of Drekker IPAs.
