Poured from 16-ounce can into a thick-stemmed crystal goblet. Gorgeous appearance: hazy, almost milky pale yellow, with a thick two-fingrr white head. Big hit of grapefruit aroma greets you as you pop the top. This is nicely balanced, with everything working together to provide a satisfying and highly drinkable beer. Grapefruit, orange, and pine resin on the nose and palate, tempered with a bit of malt sweetness and an almost milky mouthfeel. The alcohol is well hidden for a higher ABV beer. Low bitterness, with a ton of umami (!) and a clean finish. I'm not an expert on Drekker beers by any means, but the ones I've had were outstanding and this one is no exception. Highly recommended.

Garbage People

Drekker Brewing Company IPA - Imperial / Double New England IPA

Garbage Pail Person: Mad Mike! Yes I was a kid collector circa 1985-1987!! Orange peel zest, peach puree, and creamy oatmeal big time. The earthy, tangy orange zest is impressive with some deep layers of hop ooze. Creamy, dreamy smooth texture with a hop pucker and dry earth tones in the end.

Garbage People possess a clean, copper color with a small but long-lasting head. The aroma is sweet, with a hint of lemon. The flavor is sweeter, with hints of citrus fruits, mainly lemons. It's a very good feel. Overall, it's a nice New England IPA with more citrus notes than others.

Pours a gold color with a minimal white head that lasts quite a while. Aroma of sweet orange and grapefuit juices. Taste is tangy. For a double NEIPA this brew is only slightly bitter at the finish. Enjoyable!

Darker color of orange. Head was thick and bright white. Leaving nice lacing. Nose was orange juice. Taste started like orange juice, but quickly went to a bitterness that shines.

Well well well, it isn't every day that one is lodging beer review #5899, and it is the VERY FIRST BEER I HAVE REVIEWED FROM NORTH DAKOTA!!!!

Had this out disc golfing at Dretzka in May 2022. Was still hella wet. Label clearly says double ipa, but you know how that dork is. Pours yellow, but hey it does have some haze so I understand the hazy ipa designation, but hey, you can add a double hazy lazy. Thinnish 1/4" white head. The aroma didn't pop too hard on the hops. Usual mix of citrus/Citra and some tropical from everything else, light notes of pineapple and guava. Its there, its good, but not big time.

The taste is serviceable enough, has way more of a pronounced bitterness than a hazy ipa should have, but this wasn't super hazy, and it might not have even had any flaked wheat or oats. The alcohol wasn't hidden as well as the top tier dipas do it as well. But hey, its North Dakota, and this wasn't a horrible dipa or whatnot. Its a start.

Canned 10/25/22 (6 weeks ago)

Appearance: Pours a mostly cloudy (20% clarity) medium yellow and golden color with a moderate white head. SRM of 7. (4.00)

Aroma: Strong aromas of orange and grapefruit citrus, passionfruit, tropical pineapple, some hints of melon and grapes underneath. (4.00)

Flavor: Strong and juicy flavors of orange, pineapple, grapefruit with a sweet honeydew melon and tropical note underneath. (4.50)

Feel: Medium-bodied, juicy, smooth. Nice balance and drinkability. (4.25)

Compared to Drekker 2 Right Eyes 12/2022: Pours slightly darker, stronger aromas. More dynamic and balance of citrus and tropical flavors. Less spiced pineapple, apricot, kiwi, and dank guava. More balanced, juicy and flavorful.

Compared to Drekker Magic of a Different Color 1/13/2023: Pours darker, milder aromas. More grapefruit citrus and vinous notes. Less tropical peach, apricot, stonefruit, tangerine. Winner: Garbage People

Compared to Drekker Freak Parade 1/2023: Pours a darker, clearer color. Stronger aromas. More juicy pineapple and sweet grape notes. Less yeast and overripe fruit. Juicier and sweeter. Winner Garbage Peoplle

Overall: A very nice showcase of hops here. Nice grapefruit citrus and tropical from the Citra and Mosaic. The Galaxy adds a nice passionfruit and the Vic Secret gives it some bright grape and green melon notes. As others have said, very dynamic and one of the more balanced and better NEIPAs from Drekker. Poured from a 16 oz can into a Dogfish Head tulip

L: Hazed golden pour with big foamy white head. Great lacing.

S: Tropical fruits and citrus. Juicy.

T.F: Semi-sweet... fruity. Mango, tangerine, peach, and rind. Pineapple and spice... medium bodied and sticky on the tongue. Very modest bitterness... fruit juice and hops. More tropicals to finish.

O: A well above average NEIPA. Very good flavor and easy drinking.

This, is simply, one of the best hazy IPAs ever produced. It's a spoiler. I had one of these a few days ago and it ruined every other beer I drank since then (a few, right?). So as soon as I got back to Mentor I went back to Saveon (OH 306 at US20) and got another one. Ah. The last one I was going to share but it was so good I only allowed a taste. It's great.

It is the best looking hazy IPA I have ever poured from a can. Words can't do it justice - perfect yellow, perfect head. It has an alluring aroma and gives the hugely juicy hopped flavor. The after affects are wanting more.

Highly recommended. I should have bought more! My high ratings might be an injustice.
