We went full on Pineapple Upside Down Cake for this Slang Du Jour Sour a la Mode and stuffed in a ton of pineapple, cherry, brown sugar, granola, cinnamon, lactose, and vanilla beans for another one of those flavors that probably shouldn’t taste so much like the real thing but it totally does.

Cloudy, purple color. Medium-sized, pink head. Cherry, pineapple, cinnamon, and vanilla in the aroma. Rich, fruity taste that follows the aroma. Moderately sweet, pleasant tartness. Tasty.

annoying that these guys have carved out the spot they have, like this is barely even beer, it pours out of the tap like freaking applesauce, and even bartenders in corporate places like whole foods feel almost embarrassed to serve it to you, which i think alone says a lot. but here is the thing, just because you can gas it enough to force it our of a tap line does not make it a liquid, and this really isnt, generously a gel, more really an almost a paste, reddish, dull, gloopy to the chunky glass edge residual oblivion where it asks and answers its own questions about objective quality in the negative, like are you literally kidding me with this crap as an actual beer?! no hops, no yeast, no grain, no beer element is perceptible in the nose or taste, which is obviously a problem for me, a beer guy, but i do get more cherry than pineapple, which is not how a good version of this intended cake should present, its diabetic of course, cinnamon is part of the recipe apparently, and the residual sugar may hurt my grandchildren, should i survive this to go on and have them. that all said, it tastes kind of guilty pleasure good, like it does for sure on the palate what they claim for it, and some actual granola is appreciable in the absence of real beer malt, vanilla abounds, again weird and something to be critical of, but also it tastes good. drinks like taffy in texture, seriously so thick, full on baby food on the palate, which sucks for a beer, or something calling itself that. i cant score it poorly on any metric, because it has some merit and tackles its stated mission rather well, if you are creative with baking, i get crushed pineapple, sweetened, from the can, texturally too, but if this is what beer is now, i am not long for this world and i dont want to be...

Taster at Brown Beard. Looks like pink grapefruit juice. Aroma is vanilla, then pineapple. Taste continues with the vanilla and pineapple, a touch of cinnamon. Sweet, fruity, cake

This is really freaking good. Murky and dark ruby, much more than I’d expect for the flavor. Smell and taste are as exactly as advertised. Medium bodied, alcohol is stronger than I expected, slightly mouth watering finish.
My father in law makes the best homemade cheesecake in the world, and my late mother in law made a pineapple upside down cake just as good as his dessert. This beer totally makes me think of her. Even though she never touched the stuff. Cheers, Busia!

Poured moderately hard from a tall can into a snifter glass, forming barely any head before fading to some lacing. Smells faintly of pineapple and maybe apple. Taste is definitely pineapple upside down cake. Light boxie

Dead-on pineapple upside down cake flavors that come in waves. Slightly sweet, slightly tart. Pineapple hits first, followed by cherry and vanilla with granola, cinnamon, graham and brown sugar on the finish. Full texture.
