A - Bright purple, with visible particulates in the body, a light pink head, fading quickly to a thin rim, not much lacing but a coating present that distorts the visuals through the glass.
S - Mostly graham cracker and vanilla notes, lactic yogurt elements that align with the name, and a bit of berry fruitiness.
T - The taste brings the fruit to the fore, with graham cracker crust elements, vanilla and sweetness through the middle, and a bit of spicy bitterness in the finish.
M - Plus side, very drinkable, but there is a residual granularity that mars the experience. Not a deal breaker, but definitely there.
O - I love the flavor, the nose, and think the look is wild. The feel is a bit problematic. Not that it is inconsistent with what is named - this does feel like a bite of cheesecake. But I'm hoping to not get the silty note in the finish, and that's definitely there. Other versions of Slang Du Jour avoid the sandy feel, so they can reach that mark. But they didn't here.

Kettle Sour
Drekker Brewing
Slang Du Jour Blueberry Cheesecake
Date: 09/22/2021
I have drunk several of these kettle sours from Drekker; as much as I enjoy them, my palate is getting fatigued. Served in a tulip at around 38 degrees. A foamy and airy light purple two-fingered head was created from the pour. The slow dissipation left gobs of lacing and fruit on the sides of the glass. The color is dark purple. The appearance of the beer is above average for this style. The appearance of the other sour look like this except in different colors.
The first aromas are cream cheese, vanilla, and blueberries. Nosing further, I detect graham crackers, lightly toasted malts, sugar, a hint of floral, and lemon. Smells like a blueberry cheesecake and kettle sour had a baby. It boggles my mind how they accomplish this feat.
The flavors are disappointing compared to the nose. I taste cheesecake with a berry topping. I am not getting that signature blueberry tart flavor; I associate with that fruit. Other flavors in the beer are graham crackers, lemons, floral, vanilla, and cereal grains.
The mouthfeel is tart and dry. The body is thick with low carbonation. The finish of the beer is kinda unpleasant.
I thought I would never tear a Drekker beer apart, but this one fails on many levels. I have consumed two others before I have rated it. This has not changed much in the coming months. Reminds me of another blueberry cheesecake white stout that was awful when I consumed it. This beer is not as bad as that one, but it fell apart. Drekker, for me usually, is much better. I did not care for this beer.

A: The beer is very hazy to cloudy purple in color and has some hints of whitish hues. It poured with a quarter finger high off white head that left a collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light aromas of blueberries are present in the nose along with hints of cream cheese.
T: The taste follows the smell but has additional notes of vanilla and lactose.
M: It feels medium-bodied and a bit "slushy" on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer does a good job at approximating the smell and taste of blueberry cheesecake.
Serving type: can

Drekker Blueberry Cheesecake Slang Du Jour Sour à la Mode, 6.7% ABV. Pours thick and opaque maroon, with a little-finger of pink head that of course left fruit puree residue. Nose is blueberry and granola. Taste is blueberry, granola, vanilla, and very slight cheese, moderately sweet, slightly sour. Decent thick and creamy mouthfeel, overall excellent. I expected more, not picking up much cheese. All other cheesecake beers I've had either have a world class nose OR taste, never both. This has neither. Still, not horrible.
