I've had this "style" before and it's been interesting.... Just not sure it's beer ... That said, if you want an alcoholic smoothie this is a nice choice

A - Opaque raspberry color with light pink, thin, lacing.

S - Tangy blueberry and kiwi dominate the nose.

T - Blueberry and kiwi from start to finish with a slight bit of banana.

M - Ends like a massive sludge pool of Tropicana run amuck.

O - 450 North has their fingerprints all over this beer, 'nuff said.

Slushy XL

Fruited Sour

This is a collab with 405 Brewing, touting as an XL Slushy. I have enjoyed several of the other fruit sours from this series; not sure what makes this different. The beer was just out of the fridge; it warmed up to 44 degrees, Served in a tulip glass; the pour created a half-finger head. The retention was nil, leaving no lacing on the glass. This was sad to see many of this series generally have a lasting head. The color is closer to a purple smoothie with no clarity. Other than the poor showing, the appearance is par.
The aromas are these bright tropical guava and banana notes. Smelling the beer several times, I get lightly toasted malts, vanilla, fruit sugar, floral, and berries. I did not smell the kiwis. I wonder if that delicate fruit hides behind the bigger components in the beer.
The fruit profile is muddled and confused. Too much fruit created disarray in the final product. The bananas and blueberries dominated the palate. I taste this weird off-flavor like overcooked bananas but taste pharmaceutical.
The mouthfeel is creamy and thick with a fruity finish. The body of the beer is heavy with low carbonation.
The overloaded fruit profile muddles this beer to the point of no return. I prefer the other smoothies with just a couple of fruits, and well done. Nice try, but not for me.

Drekker/450 North collab Slushy XL BRAAAAAAAAins Double Fruit Smoothie Sour, 6.9% ABV. Pours thick and murky medium red with a one-finger pink head that left puree residue. Nose is almost nothing, maybe a bit of blueberry and vanilla. Taste is blueberry, fruit that is probably the kiwi/guava, banana, salt on the close, slightly sweet slightly tart. Thick and creamy mouthfeel with indifferent carbonation. Overall meh. Not one of their best showings.
