We can’t stop here, this is bat country! Brace For The G’s is an IPA brewed with YCH 303, Citra, Vic Secret, and we used Phantasm for the first time to really blast out the key lime, clementine & juicy fruit (like the gum) flavor & aromas. We’re pretty pumped with how this all came together so as your attorney we advise you to use some fast heel toe work and get some of this as quickly as possible and BRACE FOR THE G’S!

Location: Fargo, ND
Style: New Egland IPA
ABV: 7.2%

The beer's label says to brace for the g's, but I am unsure what that implies. The artwork on the label is fantastic. I am using a pint glass and serving the beer at 44 degrees. The pour created a creamy, frothy, two-fingered white with excellent retention. The slow dissipation left bits of lacing on the glass. The color is blonde with straw yellow hues, charting at SRM 4, and is hazy. The appearance of the beer is above average for this style.
Nosing the glass, I first notice the juicy orange hops: floral, pineapple, stone fruit, bay leaves, white pepper, strawberries, grapefruit, and resin. The malt complex is a cracker, doughy biscuit, lightly toasted bread crust, toasted malts, and cereal grains. Other aromas are earthy, honey, and yeasty notes.
The flavors start with hops and are massive, with notes of gooseberries, apricots, bay leaves, white pepper, bubble gum, pineapple, floral blossom, resin, grassy, juicy tangerines, grapefruit, and earthiness. The malt profile is toasted malts, malty sweetness, oats, biscuits, and crackers. Other flavors are honey, yeasty, and earthy notes.
The mouthfeel is soft and creamy with a tannic yet smooth finish. The body is medium and has medium carbonation.
The hop profile is complex yet works perfectly together. The balance between the hops and malt is delicate yet harmonious. Brace for the G's is a delicious beer, and I am glad I enjoyed it on a warm Saturday afternoon.

an unexpected find late night at spacebar downtown last night, theyve always had a sneaky good craft selection, but it seems to be getting even better, i didnt really need another beer, but this caught my eye and im glad it did. a modern hazy brewed with an experimental hop ych 303, citra, vic secret, and phantasm, which has seemingly disappeared as quickly as it came to prominence, been awhile since i have seen a phantasm beer. i loved this, by the way, perhaps as good a beers as ive had from drekker, and one of the few that isnt some high fruit gimmick, really really solid. not overly dense and starchy as the hazy ones go, frothy and creamy feeling, wheaty maybe and airy with high carbonation, drinkable for the style i reckon, nicely constructed but this really is all about the hops. i get orange hard candy, citra accenting whatever this 303 is bringing, lemongrass and even like turmeric or galangal or something tuberous and spicy, skittles candy from the red bag, ripe melon, bee balm and sweet summery herbal freshness, rainbow sherbet. what i smell in this i can also taste which is cool, mostly dry hopped no doubt, but with a little bitterness late to remind the drinker that its still an ipa. this does seem thiol forward but not in an over the top way, and the contribution of the phantasm seems subtle compared to how it sometimes is. i love how this all comes together, but i almost wish it wasnt in here because ych 303 is new to me i think and even after this can i dont have a great sense of its personality. that said, this really is good ipa, hits fresh, and it has me hoping for more like this from these guys. bravo!

Oh yeah. Another Drekker masterpiece. These guys know how to make hazy IPA's.
This one pours just about as milky as any, yet it has a piss yellow in there too, all milked up. The aroma sort of doesn't match. It is not nasty at all and a bit subdued. I expected dirty sweat socks. The taste is another thing. This one has a bunch of everything I want from Drekker hazy's - juicy, hoppy, nicely balanced with not too malty sweetness. This shit never gets old.
Highly recommended. Drekker products aren't cheap around here ($5.50-6.50/can), but I've found them to almost always be well worth it. When I was in the beer store to buy this, the Drekker delivery had not yet arrived. I waited until he did.

Drekker Brace For the G's NEIPA, 7.2% ABV. Pours hazy gold, with a one-finger off-white head. Nose is citrus, taste follows, slightly sweet, moderately bitter. Mouthfeel is juicy, yet dry, with decent carbonation. Overall excellent.

Canned 8/19/22 (less than 1 month old)
Pours a nearly completely hazy (less than 10% clarity) light and pale yellow color with a moderate white head. SRM of 5-6. (4.00)
Aroma: Strong and juicy aromas of lemon and lime citrus, kiwi, tropical asian fruit, pineapple, white grapefruit. Mostly a mixture of lime, kiwi, and Asian fruit aromas. (4.25)
Flavor: Strong and juicy flavors of lemon lime citrus, kiwi, hints of coconut and tropical fruit, pineapple, white grape and white grapefruit. A sweet green and Asian fruit tropical flavor off the end. Leans sweet. (4.00)
Feel: Medium to heavier bodied. Moderate carbonation. A citrus, pine, astringency lingers off the end. (3.75)
Compared to Drekker Evil Natured Robots 9/14/22: Pours a slightly lighter and paler color. Stronger aromas. More lime, kiwi, coconut, Asian tropical fruit. Less navel orange, cantaloupe, citrus spice. Softer, juicier, and less of a bite. Similar sweetness.
Compared to Hop Butcher Green Fly 10/12/22: Pours a lighter and hazier color. More citrus rind, Asian fruit, and pine. Less green fruit, melon, milky pineapple. More clean and bitter.
Overall: A very nice NEIPA here. Nice lime, citrus rind, kiwi, coconut, and Asian flavors with some pine. The mix of hops including Phantasm does this one well. A nice variation from Drekker's usual Citra bombs. Juicy, flavorful, leans sweet, but a lower ABV. A pronounced bitterness and citrus astringency here typical for Drekker. A nice and different combination of flavors. Enjoyable. (Rating: 4.04)
