I approached this peach ring–flavored beer with the caution of a man who has been betrayed by novelty before. The can promised “nostalgia.” My inner child cheered. My adult taste buds filed a formal complaint.
First sip? It is like someone dissolved a handful of gas station peach rings into a respectable lager and then dared it to behave. The aroma hits you with a sugary uppercut, the kind that smells like summer break and sticky fingers. There is a bright peachy pop up front, followed by a gentle wave of malt that tries very hard to restore order. It does not fully succeed.
The flavor is surprisingly committed to the bit. It is sweet but not syrupy, fruity without turning into full soda cosplay. Imagine your favorite candy grew up, got a job, pays taxes, but still keeps a trampoline in the backyard. That is this beer.
Mouthfeel? Light and effervescent, like it is giggling at its own existence. The finish lingers just long enough to whisper, “You absolutely chose this.”
Would I drink it again? Yes, but only at a barbecue where someone also brought a neon lawn chair and questionable life advice. This is not a fireside contemplation beer. This is a “why not, it’s Saturday” beer.
Final verdict: 7 out of 10 peach rings. Delightfully unserious.
