Our loveable hefty boi went all out for snacky time this time and smothered the salted caramel ice cream with even more caramel and topped it off with plum and blackberries because why not. The combination of the sticky, sweet & salty caramel with the berries is enough to make your toe beans curl right up.

i havent had a ton of these from drekker, but the ones ive had have been more fruit puree than beer, like there is no appreciable grain or hops to this at all, but it tastes good because its fruit and caramel and caramel ice cream, just such an extreme take on flavored beer. i think its funny how they call the extra ingredients gimmicks on the side of the can, like they arent taking themselves or this project too seriously, which is no doubt for the best, just for fun, and to my surprise they actually call out malt and hops in the recipe too, nice to know they are actually in here, you know, since i cant smell or taste them. so purple its almost black, like a purple sharpie marker that went through the washing machine, so thick its almost not liquid, seriously chunky sediment on the edge of the glass after i sip it, like it almost needs a rinse after each sip, and its pulpy on the palate, literally stuck in my teeth, more smoothie than beer, kind of gross really. oddly it kind of holds a head, same color family but a little more pale and pink, remarkable they can get this to hold carbonation. blackberry and plum are the fruits, tons of them, real enough, but dosed to oblivion. sweet more than tart, but this is both. lactose and a vanilla thing come to the fore pretty early, the caramel is later, mostly on the swallow and to me the least authentic part of this, like cheap candy, not sure i would put these things together in a sundae, but it works in this because they hit at different times. not too sour, but the souring thats here is clean, sugar abounds in this, completely over the top, i wish it were a whole lot drier. this seems almost like a kids drink, its for the youth, i guess this means im old now, but an entire pint can of this would cause some kind of diabetic organ failure i fear. the thing is, it is what it says it is, and it tastes pretty good in that context, certainly more dramatic and in some respects better than what others are doing in this space, but i cant imagine being a nerd for this kind of thing. super thick, i taste it forever, it makes my teeth hurt, but the berries and caramel are neat, it cant be denied. not for me, but if this is your thing, you can do a lot worse than this one, its just hard to call it great beer...

Drekker Chonk Blackberry Caramel Sundae Sour, 6.4% ABV. Pour thick and opaque maroon, with a 1.5 finger light-red head that left puree residue. Aroma is caramel, vanilla, brown sugar, and blackberry. Taste is blackberry and plum up front, brown sugar, vanilla, caramel, quite sweet, slightly tart, salt on the close. Excellent creamy mouthfeel, overall excellent to outstanding adjacent.
