It's color is richly and deeply dark violet. Thus observed after the entire contents of a pint can were emptied into a clear glass liter mug. The modest head is more a lighter violet, with a pinkish tint. There's much berry to smell, especially blueberry, blackberry and although it's not an ingredient, there seems to be some raspberry aspect to the aroma. The vanilla and plum no doubt contribute, but they seem only secondary. This packs a mighty fruity taste. Here, the plum rises to match the various berries and the vanilla adds to the overall. This is sweet enough that it belongs in the dessert beer category. There's only a little woody sourness to be had. The mouthfeel is just right for the amount of flavor this delivers, without becoming too sticky. If you like a heavily fruited beverage, one that's barely tart and not close to sour, here's a good one. There's even enough glass lacing to prove there's a solid body to it. Flavorful it is, a true sour it is not.

 

Drekker Sweater Weather BRAAAAAAAAins Double Fruit Smoothie Sour, 6.4% ABV. Pours thick and opaque maroon with no head. Aroma is a fruit mashup, plus vanilla. Taste is cranberry up front, then blueberry and blackberry, with the plum mostly there to take the edge off the sour, quite sweet, moderately tart, salt on the close. Excellent thick mouthfeel, overall excellent.

I can't believe how good this brew is - even though it is a disappointment! Let me explain. It doesn't have the syrupy thick consistency of some brains (I did roll it and invert it a few times).

It pours thinner than I remember Brains being. The aroma is amazing, though. I couldn't wait to get a sip. Slurp. Gulp. It is just too good to drink slowly. I'm not sure what all the flavors are, but it goes down like delicious dessert.

Highly recommended. I am a huge fan of the brewer. I should get another few cans - I can say from experience that Brains do not go bad (it thickens and gets more yummy).
