Our pals from Barrel Theory Beer Company braved the elements and joined us in conjuring up a pretty cool IPA that’s so heckin’ tasty you’re gonna shiver in your snowboots, but in a good way. This hop combo of Citra, Citra Cryo and Bru-1 boasts big, intense flavors of overripe pineapple, lime candy, juicy guava and sweet mango and it juuust might blow you away. Ya know, it really wouldn’t be so bad out there if it wasn’t for the wind.

Aroma is fruit/fruit punch/tropical fruit and yeast/hint of vanilla. The flavor is citrus/fruit punch, malts, a hint of lactose/vanilla and a spicy hop/slightly alcoholic finish.

Impenetrable gold pour, decent head that retreats. Nose is stone fruit and citrus.
Taste shares pineapple, nectarine, sweet citrus, light kilned malt, little dank sneaking around. Light to medium mouthfeel. Finish is juicy and mellow.

Appearance: Pours a completely hazy (5% clarity) medium to deep golden color with a massive white head that lingers. SRM of 8. (4.25)
Aroma: Strong aromas of grapefruit, passionfruit, guava, and strong musty white grape and mango underneath.(4.25)
Flavor: Strong flavors of orange, musty grape, tangerine, pineapple and mango juice underneath. (4.00)
Feel: Medium-body, strong carbonation. Zesty and citrusy off the end. Clean. (4.00)
Overall: A nice NEIPA from Drekker in collab with Barrel Theory in St. Paul. Only two hops here with Citra and Bru-1. Bru-1 gives it a pineapple and mango juice flavor atop a Citra hop base that is reminiscent of Toppling Goliath. Bright and zesty. The Citra and Bru-1 hops work well together here and this is excellent. Two great breweries Drekker and Barrel Theory come together for a great IPA collab. (Rating: 4.08)
