There was a time when summers felt endless, cartoons ruled and nobody talked about IBUs. Well, this is not that time. But it IS time to drop the deets on our new IPA. "There Was a Time" was brewed with premium pilsner, white wheat and carafoam, and hopped with Nectaron, HBC 1019 and Sultana hops so it features notes of passionfruit, juicy pineapple and just a little bit of dreamy orange creamsicle. It's juicy. It's nostalgic. It's weirdly comforting.

16oz can. Poured out a cloudy, golden orange color with a small, off-white head of foam. It left sudsy lacing. It smelled of grapefruit, orange, guava and caramel. Sweet tropical fruit taste with toasted caramel and a piney bitterness.

I'm a big Drekker fan, but other than a stout recently, I always go for the amazing fruity things they make. This was available and reasonably priced so I bought it. It's not an American IPA, it is a hazy.
It opens yellow and hazy. The aroma seems to have left the can at least partially, but what is left is a little funky, as you want in a hazy. The taste also seems to have have possibly left the best parts to the can and time. Time for me to fish it out of the trash and determine the age. Ooops. Can't read anything useful. It doesn't have a real hazy juiciness but it is still outstanding. It's the style that can't go wrong, but it usually tastes better fresh.
Recommended. Its unlikely we can this super fresh here. I don't care on the fruity things or a stout, but this kind of IPA I want to count the days. I won't buy it again, but I will generally only buy the fruity things from Drekker.

Aroma is a complex mix of citrus hops and bitter citrus peel/hint of citric acid. The flavor is big citrus/lemon, malts/slight wood and a dryish hoppy/mildly sweet finish.

Drekker There Was A Time NEIPA, 6.9% ABV. Pours hazy pale-yellow with a three-finger white head that left some lacing. Aroma is tropical fruit. Taste follows, plus coconut, faintly sweet, slightly bitter. Decent mouthfeel, overall very good.

Appearance: Pours a completely hazy (5% clarity) medium bright, but deep golden color with a strong white head. SRM of 7. (4.25)
Aroma: Strong aromas of tangerine and flower. Some tropical berries, apricot, and orange creamsicle underneath. (4.00)
Flavor: Strong flavors of orange, tangerine, green guava, lime, melon and coconut. Some green herbal flavors. Some soapy green coconut and green pine. (4.00)
Feel: Medium-body, strong carbonation. Smooth. (4.00)
Overall: Fresh release from Drekker. Some interesting hop combos Has almost a green coconut guava flavor similar to Sabro. I think the HBC 1019 is providing the nuance here with some of the coconut, orange, and stonefruit flavor. Some pine to balance, but finish is smooth. Nice as always from Drekker. (Rating: 4.02)
