Aroma is fresh yeast/bread and big lemon/orange. The flavor is big lemon/orange, malts/slightly grainy, a hint of dark fruit and a spicy hop/mildly sweet finish.

Drekker Sparklers On The Carpet NEIPA, 6.2% ABV. Pours hazy golden, with a 3+ finger white head that left decent lacing. Aroma is citrus and slight bubblegum. Taste is mostly unsweetened bubblegum, getting stronger in the aftertaste. Dry mouthfeel, overall OK.

Poured from 16oz can into a dimpled mug. No date on the can that I can see.

Appearance: medium yellow hue with tons of haze and a thick head of frothy ivory foam.

Smell: smells like a piña colada! Pineapple, coconut, maybe even a little banana in there. I’m sure Drekker has many beers with bananas and coconuts in them, but this is done just with hops. A lovely and interesting tropical mélange.

Taste: pretty much like the aroma — pineapple, coconut, and a bit of that banana. It’s a little bit more “dull”, I’d say, than the typical bright tropical hazy, but that’s not a detraction. It’s sweet, but not too much, and there is a bit of hop burn at the end so you know it’s an IPA. It’s different, interesting, and good.

Mouthfeel: medium-rich body with a good carbonation and a really good creaminess.

Overall: a really solid tropical hazy, though tropical in a different way than I’m used to. Part of this beer’s attraction to me is the novelty — it’s way coconut-ey! — so with that cavet, I really like it.
