GATHER ROUND, LAND-WALKERS & LAGER LOVERS… He rose from the deep, wearing a towel and a thousand-yard stare.
Introducing BOTTOM FEEDER FREDDY – THE FISHMAN, a slippery freak of flavor brewed in cahoots with the hop-hunters at Fidens Brewing Co.
Some say he was born in the run-off of an abandoned brew lab. Others claim he’s just a guy who never left his floatie. Either way, he’s here, he’s dripping wet and he’s brought a triple dry-hopped hazy IPA that bites back.
This bad boy is absolutely soaked in the finest hops. Simcoe, Simcoe Cryo, Citra, Amarillo and Motueka Hop Kief swirl together in a citrusy haze that’s as juicy as it is suspiciously slick.
Catch him if you can. But maybe bring a pool noodle.

Pours a super-hazed gold with 2 fingers of beige head. Above average head retention & lacing
S: Tons of tropical fruit, faint dankness, fades a bit down the stretch
T: Pineapple, pomelo, a little weed, a touch of dryness & nectarine up front. Pineapple dominates along with dryness, a little green melon & gooseberry as this beer warms. Finishes dry with much pineapple, dryness, green melon & a little pomelo
MF: Medium body, creamy carbonation, acidic. The acidity threw the balance off for me
Drinks alright, usually love pineapple in these 3XIPAs, but too acidic to love

In a full clear pint glass it came after being drawn from a tap. There's the proper amount of off-white head that's very thick and tightly knit. Below, temporarily rests a densely opaque liquid, dull apricot-amber in color. Its aroma is tropically fruity more than just hoppy and/or malty. It tastes less fruity than expected, but there is an orange-like citrusy aspect there. There's plenty of a vague starchiness to taste, likely including oats and certainly not based on barley malt. But, it's not too sweet. Even if it got sweet, its finish would resolve that. It leaves with a sharp bite that turns bitter, maybe piney, but more like chewing on an orange peel. The ABV isn't distractingly noticed, but it certainly contributes to the significant concluding bite. Overall, this is much more bitter than looks and smell would suggest. The stratified glass lacing is remarkable, especially considering the ABV and likely amount of oats in the wort. Despite the thick head, substantial glass lacing and opaqueness, this is smooth and almost delightfully light across the tongue. That's another pleasant surprise. Likely a one-off, this should be a treat for those that find it.

Drekker/Fidens collab Bottom Feeder Freddy The Fishman DNEIPA, 8.5% ABV. Pours hazy golden, with a four-finger off-white head that left lots of lacing. Aroma is citrus and melon. Taste is citrus and bitter hops, faintly sweet. Dry mouthfeel, overall very good.
