Cloudy tan color. Pours a very thick head that is refreshed from below with a steady flow of fine bubbles. Left a small amount of lacing in spots on the side of the glass.

Slightly sweet scent with some undistinguished fruit. Something slightly funky also present. Swirling the glass boosted the existing scents and added a very mild barnyard.

Very mild flavors. Slight bitters and a bit of sweet pineapple at the start. Cooked pineapple shows up with bitters in the aftertaste.

Immediately bursts into a foam leaving almost no liquid. The bubbles quickly collapse back to a mix of liquid and large bubbles. Medium body.

Rather disappointing. Nothing stands out either in a positive or negative sense.

650ml bottle - mmmmmmmmm...beer math...

This beer pours a hazy, medium golden yellow colour, with a teeming tower of puffy, rocky, and chunky bone-white head, which leaves some decent layered streaky lace around the glass as it quickly blows off.

It smells weakly of charred pineapple, gritty and grainy pale malt, a lesser crackery wheatiness, faint earthy spice, some estery yeastiness, and very tame leafy, floral, and herbal noble hop bitters. The taste is musty pineapple juice, bready and doughy mixed cereal malt, wanly phenolic yeast, ethereal black peppercorn dust, and more understated earthy, musty, and dead floral hoppiness.

The carbonation is plain in its bored-seeming frothiness, the body a so-so middleweight, and mostly smooth, but for a touch of yeasty intransigence making a minor fuss here. It finishes trending dry, the wheat malt and now ephemeral pineapple core essences presiding.

Overall - yeah, this one's name is just a tad too boastful, as there is not really anything 'sublime' going on from my perspective. There's pineapple, sure, but the whole thing never comes together, and I'm left wanting more. Not particularly easy to drink, even with the somewhat south of standard ABV.

Appearance: Cloudy golden-pink-yellow, carbonation consists of medium to large bubbles that develop a loose, frothy, white head. Head retention is low - (rapid dissipation) leaves an even ring and little foamy patches on the surface.

Aromatics: Nose is pretty fruity, but the pineapple scents do feel green, there is a bit of an elevated citrus from the cascade hops I’m guessing. It is far more fragrant, and not as muted as the last one I had last summer.

Taste: Starts off with a pretty robust hops punch despite only being 22IBU, with plenty of fresh grass and pine flavours. There is a good sour pineapple profile with an ever so subtle spice at the end. Though the cascade hops aren’t as earthy as I thought it would be it does finish of pretty dry and crisp with light yeasty/bread-like flavour in the aftertaste that doesn’t linger at all.

Feel: Fairly robust character for a hefe; quite a bit heavier than I would expect, and the lightness in carbonation gives it a crisp pucker.

Overall: Not light and refreshing like say a pilsner, but I did enjoy it’s ability to round out the flavours with its weight, the aroma is quite nice after giving it a chance to breathe a bit. They recommend pairings of Maui Ribs, Tacos al Pastor, and Nachos and Salsa… I’d agree - you definitely want to have either a sweet and tangy protein if you are having a meal, or go with something spicy if its an appetizer or snack - and adding in something crunchy gives it a complete sensation package.

4.8% ABV, 22 IBU - Pours a light golden colour with a thin small bubbled white head that diminishes leaving a thin layer of white. The nose is barely perceivable, honestly have a hard time getting much of anything. The taste starts very grassy then leads into yeast. There is pineapple there but almost unripened creating a sharp tartness that kind of sucker punches you and runs away. The mouthfeel is kind of different with that tartness hitting the top front of the tongue and sticking around. I think this could use a bit more of the pineapple sweetness to even out the feel. I
