Bought this in October 2015 though it was probably a few months older, mainly because the dust that was on it. Bought from Sam the Beerman in Binghamton NY. what stood out most was the body on this beer; rich and thick. Full malt and vanilla flavored and good carbonation but nothing overpowering. Overall a pleasant find in NY that happened to be finely tuned imperial vanilla Porter, especially for being $6.

Look: Darkest brown body. Thick, creamy, puffy, looking head that sticks.
Smell: Brown sugar lead. Chocolate chip cookies. Vanilla.
Taste: The taste disappoints. I wanted to taste vanilla, chocolate chip cookies. There is vanilla, but my first thought is flat vanilla Coke. Soft porter-ish qualities. Smooth flavors. I don't appreciate the after-taste.
Feel: The mouth feel is creamy, starts and ends well, with silky carbonation. This goes down easy.
Overall - This is not bad, but it is lacking something. It is lacking depth. For me, the beer is on the fence, teetering...thumbs up or thumbs down? Maybe a sideways thumb...

Bottle purchased at Nathaniel Square Corner Store in Rochester, NY.
Pours out a fairly dark black, with a 3/4 inch head, and a little bit of lacing.
Smells like earthy vanilla beans and sweet vanilla cream, some chocolate, and roasted malt.
This manages to not be too sweet, which is nice, and a problem that seems to befall a lot of vanilla porters. It tastes like actual vanilla beans, giving off a sort of earthy sweetness that contrasts nicely with dark, bitter chocolate, some slight dark fruit, and bitter roasted malt. There's also some toasted bread and whipped cream. All the flavors together kind of remind me of brownie batter or cake batter. This goes down really easily.
This is medium bodied, with a creamy mouthfeel, and a medium level of carbonation. It's really drinkable.
Really nicely surprised and impressed with this one.

22oz brown bomber no freshness date though this is an Imperial Porter so I could only assume even if it had a little bit of age this beer would not be affect the slightest.
Look: Pitch black hue, stunning head and leaves a trail of lace in the form of rings on the inside of the glass.
Smell: Suggestions of vanilla extract (the cooking kind), dark fruit, dark chocolate, and brown bread come to mind.
Taste & Feel: Slightly chewy full body, very smooth. Roasted grain character throughout, quick punch of vanilla with the alcohol kick then more of a dark sugar sweetness. Black currants, kiss of floral hop, and toast in the middle. Mildly sweet and roasty finish.
A good balance here, was hoping for a bit of a roasted grain character. Ends up being an ideal dessert beer.

Deep brown color with thin lacing which sticks around.
Incredible nose if vanilla and cocoa which exploded as the beer warms.
Vanilla and chocolate and raisins become more pronounced with time.
Awesome.

I am always looking for new Porters to try and I am so glad I found Porter brewed by Kancamagus. The taste was spectacular, smooth, fresh with nice hints of Vanilla but not overbearing. As I brought it closer to room temp the nose was second to none. This was a a winner in my book of beers and loved the cascading foamy head. You would never know this was 9.5% ABV

Wow! A great porter which seems to release more flavors as it sits and warms. Can't wait for their next one!
