This insanely thick and robust beast is dripping with peanut butter and chocolate! We add multiple additions of peanut throughout the brewing process and compliment those rich notes with cacao nibs from Ghana and vanilla beans from Madagascar. Those flavors are unexpectedly complimented with complex coffee notes from a blend of beans hand picked with Chicago’s Metric Coffee. Oh, we also added actual Peanut Butter Cups too, duh!

This was a bit one dimensional for me. Was hoping for more vanilla and coffee to come through, but all I really got was massive peanut butter and would have liked more balanced between the adjuncts. I really like peanut butter in stouts, but this was just too much peanut butter.

16oz can at share. Silky black pour, thin beige head. Aroma is a snootful of peanut butter with light chocolaty notes. Taste follows with more candy bar flavors, peanut butter and chocolate offering distinct but complimentary flavors. luscious.

Poured out of a 16 oz. can. Nine weeks on this can.
Pours pitch black with a two finger mocha, pretty dense, head. Nice head retention, especially for the high abv. Coats the glass with every swirl. Looks big and viscous.
Aroma is saturated with peanut butter and chocolate. Distinct peanut butter powder, salty peanut, bittersweet chocolate chip, milk chocolate, slight vanilla, lactose sweetness, slight coffee, some caramel.
Taste follows the nose nicely. Straight peanut butter cup. Milk chocolate, 70% dark chocolate, cocoa powder, peanut butter powder, real peanut, lactose sweetness, very slight vanilla, coffee roast, some roasted malt, slight caramel, slight booze on the finish. The coffee and slight roasted malt notes from the base beer balance everything wonderfully.
Full body. Creamy, soft, sticky, oily, dense.
I’m a sucker for peanut butter/chocolate and this definitely satisfies that craving. As someone who uses peanut butter powder often, this certainly has that going on. But it blends nicely with the different chocolate notes and the sweetness provided by the lactose, vanilla, and base beer. There’s even a great balance with the coffee and roasted malt playing in there. Maplewood continues to kill it.

Poured in a Maplewood teku. Nice dark, opaque with a creamy tan head. Nice lacing as it slowly dissipates.
Instant peanut butter explosion on the nose, chocolate.
Literally tastes like a liquified peanut butter cup. Loads of milk chocolate and creamy, roasty peanut butter. Not picking up any of the Metric coffee in this one, which is not a big deal to me for this concept in the Cuppa series.
Creamy medium/thick feel. Maybe a tad thinner than most of the other Cuppas.
Overall, this one is right there with Fat Bear as my favorite peanut butter stouts out of Chicago. Tasty pastry.

This stout is the most amazing peanut butter brew I have ever tried. I believe it was only made once but I'm hoping they make more of this amazing brew! I have tried many peanut butter stouts but they always leave me disappointed. Not this one!

Tastes like a melted peanut butter cup milkshake with coffee. Super viscous, nailed the texture. Liquid peanut butter cups if that’s your thing. Not overly sweet or cloying, but a little sticky with just enough sweetness. Loads of peanut butter and melted dark chocolate. Pure decadence. It may be a novelty, but it’s a damn tasty one.
