This blend of Bourbon Barrel-Aged Cuppa slept in Heaven Hill, Buffalo Trace, and Woodford Reserve barrels for over one year. We then conditioned the blend on cinnamon, toasted coconut, vanilla beans, cacao nibs and coffee hand selected with our friends at Metric Coffee.

Canned on 11/05/2019.
16oz can poured into Crooked Stave snifter.
Appearance: Black body with 3 fingers of dark mocha head. Head drops down to nothing.
Smell: Balanced barrel notes with lots of cinnamon. I think of cinnamon toast crunch, dark chocolates, and bourbon with a heavily charred oak.
Taste: Cinnamon and vanilla at the start. Coconut, dark chocolate, and more cinnamon in the finish. The barrel flavors are not overly heavy. They lean towards charred oak flavors and lighter on the spirit character of bourbon. This beer is very rich without being overly sweet. Its hard to find the coffee because the cinnamon is so big. More chocolate and bourbon flavors as it warms up. Its a cinnamon bomb!
Mouthfeel: full bodied stout. low and adequate carbonation level. Thick, silky, & creamy. The barrel contributes no booze to the beer, but the cinnamon adds a little bit of heat into this stout.
Overall: This is a killer barrel aged stout! Very rich barrel aged stout, its a sipper for sure. My suggestion is to split the can between 2 to 4 people. It goes a long way and a small pour is about what you want from this offering. This is only the second Cuppa stout that I have had. For my personal tastes, I would like more bourbon and more coconut with less cinnamon. The cinnamon seems to be a bit much for me and takes away the balance of the stout. Still a world class barrel aged adjunct stout regardless of my personal tastes.
