Surprisingly dark coppery brew, along with a slight haze allowing little more than shadows and silhouettes to penetrate thicker portions of the glass. Head production and retention are quite nice.
Nice hop-forward aroma, quite green, with notes of resin, pine, grapefruit, and melon, along with a mild dankness. There's a certain sweetness as well, partly floral, and partly malt-driven.
Really nice flavor, with plenty of caramel and pale malt character, all amplified - not upstaged - by a green herbal and citrus hop character. APA is spot on, despite the fresh hop.
This is a beer that does everything very well. There's room for "more" - more malt, more hop notes, and a higher ABV - but it isn't necessary. I think focusing on Strata as a fresh hop is interesting, as there are several varietals I'd rather see highlighted.

16oz can served in a stemless wineglass. Don't see a date on it. I think this is one of the ones I picked up at Chuck's last week.
Pours clear amber with a big head and medium carbonation. Smell is dank with a little honeysuckle. Almost earthy. Bitter finish builds up with several sips and lasts for some time.
Taste is bitter and earthy with some graininess. Overall, it's not bad as a beer, but it's not special as a fresh hop.
