Sampling a cellar temp bottle of this beer. I presume this is the "sour version" as the bottle is identical to what I have in my hand.
The beer pours a hazy straw color with some bleached white head that is tightly packed and foams up about 1 cm and fades to only some wispy edge layer. Head is gone after the first couple sips.
Aroma is spicy yeast and some husky grain. I also get a little bit of citrus but the nose is mild even with some good complexity.
First sip reveals a light crisp body with very fine and tingly carbonation. The carbonation gives a pretty good hit of physical presence on this beer. Flavor is some bready yeast and a bit of musty notes, also a bit of an acidic note on each swallow. Flavor is mild and complex similar to the nose, an interesting beer. Finish is very dry and encourages me to take additional sips. A very drinkable beer that is crisp and interesting to drink. Nice saison and great to use local ingredients and solar heating for hot water at the brewery.
Pick up a bottle it you see it, they are worth a shot.

A - Beautiful straw gold in color with a white head that quickly diminishes to nothing
S - Lemon, citrus, lacto, if you look hard enough a little earth
T - Lemon, hay, cracker, nicely tart with a clean, crisp, dry finish. There is a nice sourness to this beer but it is balanced perfectly with the other ingredients. Very refreshing.
F - Spritzy and light, moderate + carbonation.
O - This is a wonderful sour saison, not hugely complex, but I really enjoy it for what it is. Not to mention there really isn't anything like it on the shelves in CT. It's very exciting to know a CT brewery sourced ingredients locally and produced this great saison. Lots of potential here and I can't wait to see what Kent Falls does next.
