Cloudy amber caramel color with moderate activity. Slightly creamy light beige 2-3 finger head, lasting around 10 minutes, with average legs and a decent swirl reaction. Flavors of caramel, pineapples, orange, peppercorn, sweet grains, and herbal hops. Slick and smooth, almost creamy, full body with crispy carbonation. Strong strength finish, dominantly piney with barley, slightly leathery and dry, while tropical and leafy. Not too intense but quite bold for a single. Still boosting good freshness. Strong maillard effect with an English feel to it, kinda like a cross between Pale Ale and IPA. Nice take but a little unbalanced. Lacks a bit of personality I guess. Overall good quality craft.

500 ml bottled November 2013.
A: Pours a cloudy orange, half inch off white head and cap.
S: Overripe fruit.. oranges, raspberries, very sweet honey and floral notes.
T/M: Remarkably flat flavour profile with that very sweet nose. Bitter and astringent -- to the point where it lacks balance. A bit of pine spiciness but not much else. It's light bodied.
Not great against other QC IPAs.

A:
Pours a golden brown with some red hues when in the light. It immediately has a one inch head that quickly dissipates to a thin, creamy coating with nice lacing.
S:
Smells like beer. Sourish alcohol smell overall with some hops odors. Nothing to write home about.
T:
Tastes good and real even and balanced. Some grassy flavors and pine.
M:
Crisp, good carbonation up front with some mellow malt sweetness, warm yeasty underneath and a bitter (almost medicinal--but not bad) finish that fades to sour.
O:
A pretty good beer. Would be good for working or doing something outside. I have definitely had better IPAs. The only real beef I have on that front is that the taste is pretty hollow and almost boring. I wouldn't want it 5x hoppier or anything, it just has a very simple, bitter hop flavor that pervades it all. That said, I'd drink it again.

Lightly chilled .5L bottle into a shaker pint. No visible bottling date.
Look- Hazy medium amber with three fingers of dense white froth. Good retention, leaves some very nice lacy rings.
Smell- Musky, herbal hops are right at the front, quite spicy.
Taste- Toasty, moderately bitter, not a ton of flavor. Spicy, peppery, dry feel. Shortbread malt takes a back seat, although the overall impression is still fairly sweet. Vaguely fruity, but never really makes a showing.
Mouthfeel- Medium body, soft carbonation, silky. Unfortunately, also super cottony and astringent finish.
Overall- Alright, but a bit heavy-handed on the bittering and far too drying. Worth trying if you're looking to get your taste buds flattened, but I'll pass next time.

500mL with possible (confusing) date code on printed on bottle.
Pours a dark caramel, translucent with orange hues that has a half-finger, slightly-off-white head that persists throughout.
Bitter grassy, herbal and mildly peppery aroma with some orange zest notes.
Vague bitter, slightly herbal hop notes prominent, some orange notes, with slight sugary malt in the background.
Sticky, more or less creamy smooth with light, tightly bubbled carbonation.
Not a bad IPA, but nothing impressive. Nice bitterness, but little complexity, and not enough refinement.

A: Cloudy dark orange/amber colour with a very tall creamy foam head. Nice lacing.
S: Bready malts, strong herbal and spice notes, and a lingering sweet citrusy orange smell compliments this nicely.
T: Sweet biscuity malts upfront and subdued pine hops that follow. Spices of clove & pepper, some grapefruit, and a surprising bit of smokiness in the aftertaste. Finishes quite bitter and dry.
M: Quite thick and viscous for the traditional IPA style. Average carbonation.
D: Overall a good beverage that I would purchase again. For me this would be tough to drink on a regular basis considering the thickness, but nonetheless, a good IPA that I would recommend to try.
