Muddled dark brown, nearing black, with a quick to disperse khaki head forming a flat, uneven collar around the edge.
This actually starts off with a pretty classic tobacco roast, where a savory roasted garlic only seems detectable on the nose. However, at Great Taste of the Midwest, after I had a few sips, the brewer added a homemade tincture that sharpened and brightened it up with a fresher garlic character, particularly on the palate, which made for a tasty, if unique experience.
The medium body has a firm froth and finishes cleanly semi-dry.

Quickly dissipating, brown head. Nearly black, with no light transmission. Subtle, dark roast grains and a tiny bit of spiced, toasted wood, in the aroma. Moderate, smooth tasting, dark roasted grains, with an off-dry touch, at the beginning, roasted garlic is way in the background.
