Picked up as part of a mixed six pack for $10.98 from the Ingles cooler on Spartanburg Hwy in Flat Rock 8-27-21. Canned 5-26-21; consumed 11-10-21. Cold stored since purchase.

Beer poured brown with a decent off white head.

Nose is classic English Nut Brown, light roasted malts and a touch of nuts are very prevalent.

Taste follows the nose with a light roasted malt bill that produces a nice roasted nut flavor that is balanced nicely by adequate hopping to ensure no inordinate sweetness on the back end.

Mouthfeel is light to medium bodied and pretty smooth.

Overall it was nice to have a traditional brown ale, been awhile!

3 week old can pours a clear brown golden body with 2 finger light tan foamy head that lasts pretty good
Smells like light dutch cocoa , toasted chocolate malt, very nice!
Taste follows that trail perfectly, and is very tasty while remaining a pretty light , clean feel.
A great example of a brown ale, worthy of a higher rating for the brewer's perfect execution.

Medium brown filtered with 3 fingers of beige head.

Smells of toasted malts, toffee and caramel.

The taste follows the nose with random sour and acrid notes.

Medium light body with moderate carbonation.

I got this in NC and am drinking it in Redding, July 17th, 2020.

12 oz. can poured into pint tumbler.
Look - Practically perfect brown transparent body, attainable off white head fades out after a calm pour.
Smell - Toasty malts, fresh, nice presence
Taste - sweet roasted classic dark malts flavor, clean and full flavor
Feel - light and crisp, clean,
Overall - Balsam Brown is very much one of my favorite brown ales, light, crisp and clean, but plenty of good flavor.

On tap in Hendersonville, NC.

Poured dark brown with a fine tan head and ample lacing.
Rich medium malts flavor and aroma with some darker malts too. Straightforward but very well crafted.
Medium body and medium+ carbonation.
