look: 3.75 | smell: 3.75 | taste: 3.5 | feel: 3.5 | overall: 3.5
Attractive 12 oz can with a canning date of 25 Mar 2016.
Pours with a very large bone-colored head that leaves a coat of thick lacing on the glass.
Near medium body with lively carbonation.
Aroma: baked rains and raspberries.
Flavor: Momentarily sweet but then more (but mild) bitterness than expected although this is not objectionable. Clear and moderately strong raspberry flavor. Faintly funky and lightly yeasty.

A: Pours a clear pinkish golden honey in color with moderate amounts of active visible carbonation rising along the edges of the glass and some moderate ruby red + copper highlights. The beer has a three finger tall sudsy foamy light beige head that reduces to a large patch of mottled thin film covering the entire surface of the beer and a medium thick ring at the edges of the glass. Moderate amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Light aromas of slightly tart raspberries over the top of moderate aromas of pale + grainy malts.
T: Upfront there is a moderate flavor of pale + grainy malts with a moderate amount of spicy saison yeast. That is followed by a light flavor of tart raspberries and a light flavor of earthy hops which impart a light amount of bitterness in the finish which does not linger.
M: Just shy of medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Hints of dryness in the finish.
O: Enjoyable and easy to drink with a subtle raspberry flavor/aroma which is quite complementary to the base saison. Definitely one I would grab again.

Not quite as vibrant as I was hoping for, but I thought this was a good example of a fruited saison by a new (for me) brewery. The raspberries could have been more assertive, but were still a nice addition to a well made, straightforward saison.

Really nice saison. Raspberry is a subtle compliment to the flavor and aroma of this beer, not the star that steals that show, which is exactly how I like my fruit beers. Would definitely order this again.
