Like fall in the mountains our Oktoberfest Lager is the best of both worlds - refreshing & crisp on warm days , hearty & flavorful for cool nights.
Our smooth & easy drinking Oktoberfest is brewed with Munich, Vienna & Victory malts that impart caramel, nutty & slightly toasted notes. It's then fermented with German lager yeast for a crisp, clean finish.

12oz can stamped 07/23/24 poured into a stemless wine glass at just above fridge temp 5% ABV. The beer pours bright medium amber with copper highlights and khaki colored head. The head recedes to a thin ring and island. The aroma is mild with sweet caramel malt and a hint of toast. The taste is semisweet caramel malt with toasted and nutty malt. Minimal bitterness or hop flavor. The feel is thin bodied with average carbonation and a mostly dry finish. Overall, ok.

12 oz can from a Appalachian Vintner in Asheville, NC ($2.38).
Appearance. Copper colored body with high clarity and a decent white head.
This has a fine malt forward aroma. It is a rather mediocre tasting marzen up front, but mid-taste on through the finish and aftertaste it's certainly above average. It's clean and well balanced with no off notes.

Drinking this at The Boojum Brewery in beautiful but very busy downtown Waynesville North Carolina with The Red Headed Lady of Snowbird Mountains Brewery fame.
Looks clear amber with a tannish foamy head that dropped quickly to a thin ring.
Smells Malty, slightly spicy.
Taste follows the nose nicely.
Mouth feel is medium for the style with a nice clean finish.
Overall a very nice example of a Octoberfest Lager that would definitely order again.
Cheers!

Boojum makes one of the better Marzen lagers that I've had over several years and from many brewers.
One of the few that i still get every year. Just right amount of body and character, feel and overall taste and drinkability.
It's easy to drink ! Very clean finish no negatives whatsoever.

Picked up as part of a mixed six pack for $10.98 from the Ingles cooler on Spartanburg Hwy in Flat Rock 8-27-21. Canned 8-9-21; consumed 10-28-21. Cold stored since purchase.
Beer poured an orangish brown with a nice white head with the original pour.
Nose is of fresh toasted malts and floral hops.
Taste is primarily nutty combining with toasted malts to form a flavorful base. Hopping is adequate and leaves no trace of residual sweetness.
Mouthfeel is light to medium bodied, crisp and refreshing.
Overall a well done Marzen that i would have again!

So I got a pour of this and the bartender swore up and down twice that this was in fact the Oktoberfest. The beer I got did not look, taste, or smell like an Oktoberfest. Instead I got what by every metric appeared an IPA (or IPL if it is indeed their Oktoberfest). Pale gold with a huge hoppy aroma and flavor. As an Oktoberfest, it sucks. As an IPA or IPL, it's pretty damn tasty. I will rate it to taste alone instead of style.
