Listed as Sickle Tail- West Coast IPA on the menu.
This pours a light clear amber color, with a half inch head, and a lot of lacing.
Smells pretty pine dominant, with very mild grapefruit, and a not too overly sweet bready malt backbone.
This is your classic middle-of-the-road West Coast style IPA. It's been done a million times before. I wish the hop character *popped* a little bit more, it's mainly just pine and the slightest hint of grapefruit. It's pretty bitter, with the malt backbone propping it up. The malt backbone is surprisingly the more interesting aspect of the beer, as it's sturdy and tasty, without being too malty sweet. When an IPA's best quality is the malt backbone, though...you know something isn't perfect.
This is medium bodied, pretty full bodied for the lower ABV. It's got a normal level of carbonation.
This is a well done rendition of the style, it just doesn't push any buttons for me. I could see it becoming better with a few tweaks.
