750 ml crowler filled 3-4 days ago, one of my friends gave this to me earlier today after getting back from a recent trip to NY/MA. Served in a nonic pint glass, the beer pours dark brown with pretty much no head at all. No lacing, either. I guess this beer was on nitro, and nitro brews don't do well in crowlers after 1-2 days apparently. The brew smells like milk and bittersweet chocolate, roasted malt and a bit of coffee. I think the taste is pretty much just like the aroma, it's dominated by milk/bittersweet chocolate flavors but there's also some roasted malt and coffee noticeable too. Mouthfeel/body is light/medium, it's a bit slick with low carbonation, which I expected because my buddy drank his crowler last night and said that the carb was really low but still tasted good. He also said that it was much better on-tap at the brewery. I agree with that, I think this would be really good when fresh. Hopefully one day I'll get to try it there!
