Enjoyed from a 12-oz bottle. Look: very dark brown, small light-tan head with somewhat hard pour, looks under-carbonated, poor head retention. Smell: lightly roasty, hint of sweet, mild hop aroma. Taste: dark chocolate bitterness, hop bitterness in background, lacking complexity. Feel: soft carbonation, medium body. Overall: an average attempt at the style; dark malt flavor dominates but lacks depth and subtlety; minimal hop aroma and flavor, simply bitterness; still a drinkable beer.

On tap at Kretschmann Brewing Company.
Pours a dark brown with amber notes on the edges. Left a tan head that dissipated slowly, plenty of lacing left behind.
Grapefruit hops take the nose, fruity notes swirl around the edges.
A balanced mild hop bitter melds into a chocolate malt finish. The end is earthy bitters through into the aftertaste. Subtle, but tasty.
Medium bodied, smooth and creamy, leaves clean. Alcohol leaves a bit of a warmth for the aftertaste.
A good brew, one I would definitely sample again.
