American amber ale with a hearty malt profile. Not too bitter, not too sweet, this red ale is insanely good.

Had on tap. Pours clear, reddish brown in color with 1/4 inch head. Taste is caramel, toasted malt, and light piney hops as the beer warms. Medium bodied, low carbonation, sweet. Makes for a slightly above average, drinkable amber. Could get again or pass.

Clear, dark copper colored pour with an off-white head. Aroma of caramel malt and light hops. Taste is malty with caramel and toffee flavors initially. Mildly bitter floral and piney hop flavor develops as the beer warms a bit.

Initial impression from a bottle courtesy of Schlimenhaumer:
Malty and toasty with hints of caramel and toffee. More malt-emphatic than hoppy to its detriment...sort of a Vienna ale (if you will). There is some floral hop character but it doesn't match the malts well (it'd be better off herbal, tea-like, and/or piney).
Drinkable and enjoyable in any case. Serviceable.

It looked good, it smelt good, but this was way way too many hops to be considered a red ale. The hops over power the beer leaving an IPA taste in your mouth instead of that crisp clean amber feeling that red ale's are known for.

Poured from a 12 ounce bottle into a pint glass. I was very impressed with the head and lacing, which lasted through the consumption of the beer. Nothing bothers me more than a beer that immediately loses the head! The body of the beer was a deep amber in color. Not too much aroma, but what was there seemed to be balanced between hops and malt. Good tasting on the first sip, with hops bitterness mitigated by the malt flavors. There was a lingering bitterness on the tongue, but nothing overwhelming. Overall a very drinkable red ale that I would buy again.

12oz. bottle served in my Spiegelau nonic. Pours a hazy copper hue with a dense, 2.5 inch, tan-colored head. Textured swaths and spots of lacing are revealed during the tasting. Nose express sweet toasted malts with a hint of caramel and pine. Taste follows nose; however, more piney and less sweet with a hint of cardboard towards the back. Mouthfeel is light-medium in body with a crisp carbonation and a light acidity. Overall, a decent representation of the style; however, one in a sitting is more than adequate.
