Black opaque body, tan sudsy collar. Taste has big rye barrel leading powerfully, supporting char, earth, dark chocolate, a touch of anise, and slight smoky coffee grounds. Smell is mostly rye barrel to the face! Smooth and very warm, slight chew, layered with the barrel character, not thick though, boozy but dialed in for 14% abv.
