Super light and just the right amount of sour. I get it with the woodruff syrup made on premises which makes it just over the top good.

Appearance: Hazy pale yellow with a moderate white head.

Smell: Subdued wheat and yeast.

Taste: Wheat and malt up front, quickly becoming quite tart and somewhat citric. Quick fading aftertaste.

Mouthfeel: Thin and moderately carbonated. The main thing my mouth feels is the pucker from the tartness

Overall: My first purposefully sour beer. It is certainly different, but not hard to get into after a few sips. I tried it with and without the accompanying syrup - not necessary, but it gives it some sweetness that goes nicely without being cloying.

On-tap at the brewery itself, on to the beer:

This is a pee yellow colored beer with a haze in its body. A billowy head was served to me, though that doesn't last very long as it melts to nothing. The beer is pleasantly tart, acidic, while offering biscuit notes in the aroma as well. Although tart in flavor, the beer is light and easy drinking, and the tartness also gives smaller notes of lemon and a kiss of bread some speaking time. This beer is salivating, to say the least, and to think Barley Forge also offers it with Woodruff Syrup at their taproom...I'll have to try that some time.

16 oz at the source. Colour is cloudy gold. Smells musky. Taste is light tart, biterness, ABV a bit higher than the standards, but still pretty light. Finishes a bit austere as the bitterness lingers accompanied with the slight tartness.
An ok Berliner, inoffensive but not great. Fairly good for a new bewery.
