This is marketed as a oatmeal coffee stout, maple bourbon barrel aged. The smell is nearly all roasted coffee notes with a barely there hint of maple. Tastes like a great coffee has been fermented. Unfortunately, I don't get any maple or bourbon barrel flavors on the palette. Taste is exceptional for a coffee stout, lacking for a bourbon barrel. Overall, still very good, 4.0.

Minimal carbonation. Thin tan head when swirled vigorously, that dissipates quickly. Roasted chocolate and coffee on the nose. Big roasty notes on the palate. Thin, but hides it's 9% well. Pretty decent roast forward stout.
