Pleasure House Brewing "Spanish Moss Poblano Witbier"
on tap at the brewery on 19 June 2017
$5.50 / Pint
Notes: Listed at 5.2% ABV with 18 IBUs. Mostly clear gold body beneath a bright white head that holds fairly well but leaves only spotty lacing behind. The aroma is basic witbier aroma with a little bit of an earthy, peppery side. The flavor is sweetish, but also spicy with an herbal, earthy, and peppery character. Is there actual Spanish Moss in here with the Poblano pepper, or is that just the name? I have no idea. A stiff bitterness anchors it sharply, and it finishes dry with wheaty malt lingering. Given the name I was expecting more but I'm actually glad it's not so crazy. The pepper lends it some character but not a lot of heat, and it remains quite drinkable.
