Taste was sweet with a hint of the mulling spices on the backend. Not boozy at all for 12.5%. A very tasty American twist on the Belgian quad. My only complaint was the sweetness was borderline too much. But don't let that stop you from drinking it. Buy a bottle and cellar it for a year or two to let it mellow then enjoy.

L: Poured from a bottle to a snifter. Had a mahogany brown color and a murky, cloudy consistency. There was a small amount of off white, foamy head that quickly dissipated. Not a whole lot of lacing.
S: A sweet and fruity aroma of cherries, Belgian yeast, spices, and a sugary quality.
T: Tasted of a moderate amount of Belgian-style yeast (not too much), lots of cherries, a bubblegum quality, Candi sugar, spices (pepper, cloves), and caramel as well. A very sweet beer - much sweeter than your typical quad - that gets better as you go along. Heavy on the cherries, but that's not a bad thing.
F: An average amount of carbonation with a lively finish. Medium-bodied.
O: Kind of an oddball version of a quadrupel, but it still works. Very much drinkable.

Poured a brown body with minimal head and no lace. Candi sugar and Belgian yeast shine in aroma along with minor notes of licorice/anise/clove/pepper (there is a spiciness in this beer that I can't quite pin down). Medium to thick bodied, the yeast comes through with both the smoothness/fullness that this beer gives off, making it easy to sip, along with touch of yeast/bubblegum sweetness. A rather sweet quad as the candi sugar sweetness overpowers the minor notes of dark fruits (raisins/figs) and spices. A good quad to sip on but wish the fruit flavors and malts (really don't get any caramel or toffee malts) would shine through more.
