This beer's spicy, yeasty, and malty character is not really enough to cover up the high alcohol content. I had some bad luck with the bottles gushing when I opened them. It is a decent drink, but I'll look elsewhere for my high ABV tripels.

There are many things going on with this triple. Not for the light beer drinker of course, like a good triple should be. I found myself enjoying breathing it in more then drinking I think. Gave it a 5 for smell. This is a sipping beer for enjoying the strong Belgian spices and hops notes. A six pack lasts me 4 to 5 days, that is rare. Normally a six pack is gone in one night. Its not because I didn't like this beer, its because its so savory and slow to go down.

I don't see a bottle date listed anywhere.
Appearance: The beer is opaque and beige. It has a very short head that fizzles out quickly. No head retention or lacing.
Aroma: There is a very light bit of clove and what smells like souring fruit.
Taste: It starts out with this tartness which is very off-putting for a Tripel. This is followed by a light bit of clove and this faint herbal moss taste that pops in from time to time.
Mouthfeel: It is tart and puckering without much carbonation or life to the beer.
Overall: It is a drinkable but very underwhelming beer that greatly undershoots the style. The label states "BELGIAN TRIPEL" but seems to go out of its way to make something completely different. I would not drink it again and I would recommend against drinking it.

Decent nose, darker orangish color. Lots of spiciness and a good balance with the malt and yeast. Mouth feel is spicy and a slight bit coating and chewy. Overall, lots of flavor and a yeast and dry spice finish
