Clear golden. Medium-sized, white head. Malt, grain, and a hint of lemon in the aroma. Moderate bitterness in the malty taste. Good, unpretentious, summer lager

Canned 2022/05/24
Pours a frothy 1.5 finger head with moderate retention, lots of sticky lacing, semi hazy pale color
Nose big lemony, grassy, lemongrass, floral, touch herbal hop as well, light cereal malt, a bit like fruity cereal
Taste brings more lemony citrus hops, grassy, lemongrass again, a bit floral, more cereal grain and fruity cereal, light bitterness, softish finish a bit sweet, lingering herbal mild spicy hop
Mouth is med to a touch lighter bod, med to higher frothy carb
Overall not bad, not much of a lager per se but not too far off, I didn't even realize there was lemon zest in there until I re-read the can, I thought some lemon-drop hops or something, it does overpower a bit

Unfiltered and golden in color, with plenty of retained lacing. The strongest aroma is of the kaffir lime, with some floral hops and a hint of biscuit. Lemon-lime on the tongue, so if that flavor profile is your thing, you'll be pretty happy. If you're looking for a standard pale lager, give it a pass.

A: The beer is slightly hazy light yellow in color and has a light amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a quarter finger high bright white head that gradually died down, leaving a thin collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light aromas of Kaffir lime leaves are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell and has somewhat stronger flavors of Kaffir lime leaves.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied and clean on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is very easy to drink and the addition of Kaffir lime leaves prevents it from being bland.

Yeah, this is old. I had a can saved for a friend but lo and behold, a ton of time passed by and next thing I knew, this was the oldest can in my slowly-shrinking stash. Dated 6/21/17, this was brewed for pride week that year as it had PEOPLE PRIDE written above that date. Most of the rest of the cans that I bought at the time were consumed fresh but this held up well over the last two years as it tasted fine and didn't have any sediment at the bottom of the liquid. After all this time, that's all I could ask for!
Being an American Lager, this had a nice, golden pour to it with plenty of offsetting head. Most of the lacing left behind was in rocky sections near the top of my pint glass although none of them looked like hints of any rings. Lots of straw, grass, and white chocolate sweetness in the nose although any sourness or bitterness was quite difficult to discern. White grape, wine, light wood, and straw emerged in the taste as this fully warmed up but never did this feel like a European Lager; as that was quite a plus! Easy to drink and enjoy, this was quite lively and had a basic, bready malt to it as the aftertaste was reminiscent of cereal...
Not a lot of booze here as this was a good a session beer as I've had in recent years. Most imbibers love their beers to be strong and hoppy, or to have one of those attributes. This easily proved that a quality beer full of live didn't have to be like that as I enjoyed every sip of it after buying it and during my review two years later. I wish more brewers would give this style a go - it's so lively when done right and to have a cause near and dear to me behind it only made this offering that much more enjoyable!
