Traded for this a while ago, as the date on the bottom of the can read 2/22/18 with REACH FOR A MONUMENT written underneath that. This almost felt like a Fruit / Vegetable beer or a Gose as much as a Berliner Weisse, since this had so much Pomegranate in it. If those aforementioned styles are what you're after, then this beer would certainly be up your alley!
Thin and golden, this had plenty of head that was bubbly, full, and fast-settling. It was uneven as it went down in my pint glass and there was zero lacing left behind as I took my first sips of this. Lots of pomegranate, sea salt, acetate, and cracker in the nose as the taste had some floral and potpourri notes in it as well. Balanced, slick, and smooth, this was what a beer of this style should be with a lively carbonation that kept pace with it's lack of discernible alcohol. Some sour and acetate notes emerged once this fully warmed up but in the end, this felt like a hybrid of a few styles without one standing out above the rest.
Not a lot of booze in this one and with enough cracker in the body, it was hard for the flavors to totally dominate. If you like Berliner Weisse beers, this one would be worth seeking out as it was a solid example of the style. It was just a bit too stylistically cluttered for me to rate it any higher!
