This is an excellent Kellerbier, crisp and slightly dry, with a very good head, although it dissipates fairly quickly. Having been a diehard fan of 2SP Pils, also a Kellerbier, it has been fun to compare the two. I think I prefer this one slightly over 2SP which is still superb. The 2SP has a slight aftertaste which this one does not have, and I like that. Very refreshing for summer drinking, or any time of the year if you like this kind of beer!! Later (3/21) We did a taste test between this one and 2SPils and Zlaty Pilsner by Diamondback. Actually, Monument still comes out on the top, with a crisper feel, although still hazy, and some other pleasing accents like citrus in addition to the usual "grassy" of a Kellerbier, however. So- still the winner!! Someone add more reviews - should have an outstanding review above! WISH THEY MADE THIS YEAR ROUND. - Later, talked to Ken at Monument, one of the founders, at length. They will probably not be making this beer this coming year, for lack of interest from the general public; hard to get it out there. Too bad! But he took in my opinions of that oneAnd the wonderful Pagoda Ale. BTW they ARE in DE at Total Wine& Fairfax.

Nice crisp and hoppy, with good carbonation and body. Quality pilsner.

I'm a huge Kellerbier fan and the thought of one of my favorite styles enhanced with double-dry hopping was just too good to pass up. The beer, however, was a surprise in that it's definitely more a pilsner style. I didn't note (or taste) any cellaring in the product. That said, there's a lot to like here. The color is a bright yellow, with a massive (almost too massive) head that forms as you pour from the can. The resulting liquid is subtly carbonated and provides a very soft hint of bright biscuit and spicy hops. Definitely more hopped than your average pilsner, but not overly so. The flavor is well balanced, starting with a tiny hint of sweet, the aforementioned hops (more piney than citrus), followed by a subtle bitterness that leaves a somewhat dry aftertaste. Very drinkable. This, coupled with the moderate, quaff-able 5% ABV, makes it something I'd seek out--particularly on tap. Worth trying! Now if they'd do a real cellar version (perhaps aged in wooden barrels), that would be a treat.
