Indians is the latest beer release of the inception series released 5/19/13 at the brewery only. Per the label: Ale brewed with rose hips and hibiscus aged in wine barrels with cherry juice. A saison from the wild west. Hibiscus, rose hips, and cherry juice blend to create a garnet color with a funky tartness on the acidic side that highlights cherry and apple-like flavors. Finishes nicely dry.
---
A - Pours a ruby reddish color with good size foam head and a decent amount of carbonation. Head fades quickly to few tiny bubbles.
S - Moderately tart cherries, little bit of funk, some green apple as well.
T - Mild cherry wave right up front with just a touch or tartness from the barrel. Also some granny smith apple like flavors as well. Finish is clean and semi dry.
M - Thin and moderately dry.
O - Interesting funky twist on this saison. Was hoping for a bit more complexity. At times it seems as if I'm drinking a tart cherry Kool-Aid with a bit of alcohol or a rose wine without the sweetness. Hopefully some age on this one will improve things.
