A collab with our partners at MSU Denver, this ale is brewed with El Dorado hops giving it semi-sweet, tropical flavors and biscuit finish.

Reds fell out of style for whatever reason, but Tivoli still makes one, and it's pretty good. Nothing groundbreaking, but a solidly made beer with good flavor and a bit of hops but a bit of maltiness as well. Nicely balanced and not too heavy at all, as some reds tend to get when they are overly hoppy.

Had on tap at the MSU Campus Brewery
On arrival just about a finger of fine white head that dissipates quick to a thin ring, but still leaves some lacing. The body is a very dark very red color with no haze.
Aroma has a definite sweet maltiness along the lines of an Irish red ale, with just that extra hoppy touch, but it seems like a lot of these hops were used for bittering as there isn't a whole lot of hop aroma, although it is present and provides some light stone fruit and pine aromas. Definitely opens up as it warms.
The taste is leaning into some big malty Irish red flavors with some roasty, toasty, nutty malts, balanced pretty nicely by some El Dorado bittering hops. It does come off as a bit experimental which I appreciate but the extra brightness from American hops really isn't necessary in this style. Right bitterness, wrong terpenes.
Feel is honestly a bit thin to be honest. I want more thick malty feels in a beer like this, but it feels a bit like water on the palate with a dry medium finish. Definitely easy to drink but I want it to be more hearty.
Overall this is a fun beer with an interesting collab thing going on. I appreciate the semi-experimental hop combo here, but fuggles or EKG would be nicer here. A bit thin which is disappointing, but honestly this is a decent beet I don't have a lot of problems with.

been awhile since i had anything from these guys, thanks to the denver airport i periodically still can check in on them. this is just a red beer, maybe a little hoppier than the industry standard, but for colorado this is mild as they go in that regard, with a nice nutty and rich malt profile and a relatively dry finish, actually pretty clean beer, and nice with slightly spicy food, would have loved to test it against some truly hot stuff, as i tend to love reds with hot peppers, but that will have to wait. it has a kilned sort of warmth to it, an obvious freshness, and a frothy sort of almost creamy texture where i appreciate some bready yeast the most. there is nice balance here, and in some ways it almost hits like an english pale. good base on it, not overly complex, but rather professionally done, and i dont mind a little linger at the end. a pint beer for sure, nice carbonation and a very satisfying quench for a red. nothing radical, but its nice to see these guys still churning out good beer, i have pretty much always been a fan. it takes a lot to stand out in the denver scene, and this isnt going to make them celebrities or anything, but its good beer, absolutely.

T:. Sweet cereal malt, some caramel, slight pine sap hop but not much. Not very interesting overall, very meh.
