possibly just called tivoli brut ipa now, either way, its been too long since i had a beer from these guys, and i was pumped to see this at the denver airport, believe it or not (this being a sad commentary on how different life in idaho is compared to life in colorado is a story for another time). the tap says brut ipa, the receipt says brutiful. clear beer, tropical hop aromatic but less dramatic than i thought it might be, southern hemisphere sure, but its not bursting in that way. there definitely isnt much bitterness happening here, green grape, pear, apple, and even peach tones to the hops, a little ester to the yeast too, almost white winey to me, maybe fermented a bit warm to develop this on purpose. somewhat sympathetic with the hops, curiously almost belgian to me, not a wine yeast i dont reckon or any special reconditioning, but its not neutral, and i like that. the hops could pop a little more, its like generic fruity and at the same time not as dry as i want it to be, but overall this is pretty refreshing, even without the intense carbonation i look for in a brut. for me this is just okay, and the jury is really still out on the style overall, but i like tivoli and its cool to see them doing something a little more modern like this...

I'm digging Brut IPAs, mainly because they're really not IPAs per se. This one is just as light and fizzy as it should be, without any hoppy aftertaste. I was actually surprised it was 6.0% ABV given how light it was. Another good example of a new and trendy style.
