Living in a place bursting with fruit of all kinds, it's only natural that our beer would be inspired by it. The second in our Summerland series, this Raspberry Ale is easy-drinking and ripe for the picking.

Clear light gold color. Medium head quickly dropped down to a thin skiff after a couple of minutes. Left some streamers of lace. Low flow of mixed size bubbles rising to the surface.
Strong raspberry scent that is very lightly cooked. Some very light malt with a bit of yeast funk and a touch of barnyard. Swirling the glass boosted the barnyard, but it blended well with the raspberry; the overall scent was like a raspberry bush and the soil it was growing in.
Somewhat malty with a light berry flavor. Slightly sweet after a few seconds. A medium level of bitters that tasted like they came from the leaves and canes of the raspberry bush, not hops; this tasted out of place in an ale and was not very pleasant. The aftertaste is malty bitters and raspberry. The bitters grow stronger over time.
Moderate tongue tingling. Slowly turns into light foam. There is an astringency that grows over time, along with the bitters in the aftertaste.
The raspberry scent was refreshing, but this didn't come across in the flavor. The bitters are very harsh, and seem like a mistake.
