if you are used to the wild and mature tasting saisons of the old world, this one probably isnt going to cut it for you, but if you drink locally made saison that is more belgian than farmhouse and are tired of the same french saison yeast and ester heavy profile, this is a big upgrade. its a little hazy but real pale, straw colored at the darkest and really heady, like a soda. some lemongrass and green tea to the nose, up in the esters of this yeast strain, white pepper, orchard fruit, and white wine in a somewhat lesser proportion. its wheaty too, fresh and light, but with some fluffy roundness from the grain and a ton of carbonation. its yeast driven, but lightly citrusy hoppy to finish, floral notes from the yeast love what hops are here, and this one drinks way too easily, i slam two from funny glassware in a very short period of time in here. refreshing in its dryness, but interesting enough on the yeasts side to warrant some contemplation too, not wild at all, but floral and maybe fermented cooler and longer or something, allowing some cool nuance from a loosely familiar strain. these guys keep improving, and this is really good. i hope it sticks around.
