Bought and consumed in La Fortuna, Costa Rica. Maracuya means passion fruit and Pitahaya means dragon fruit, making this a uniquely flavored beer. The beer has a balanced smell with a bit of fruit and some bread actually. Sweetness does not overpower the beeriness of the beer, if that makes sense. Taste is not overpowering either, with the fruit taste coming mainly in the finish. Fresh tasting and a good drink in the heat. This is ridiculously drinkable and literally sessionable, though it verges on tasting a bit cloying.

perhaps my favorite of the domingo 7 beers i had while in costa rica. this is a light ale with passion fruit and dragon fruit in it, and i dont know how they add the fruit or what they use, but it tastes both more balanced and authentic to me than their blueberry wheat did. there is a little pinkish orange color to it, and a little haze, but a good white head and just a bit of flakey sediment. tartness from the passion fruit is there, a little citrus too, and then a sweet and tangy complexion from the dragon fruit, both fairly true to the fruits, and not overdosed, it still tastes like beer underneath, albeit and very mild, even watered down one, i still get the pale malt and a little ale yeast fermented on the warmer side. these guys ended up not at all being my favorite brewery in costa rica, but this fruit beer was at once original and refreshing, and was the best of what i had from domingo 7 on our trip. this was enjoyed from our patio at our hotel, looking out over a beautiful garden and the arenal volcano, a perfect setting to enjoy a unique costa rican craft beer like this one! not as sweet as it sounds like it would be, this is a real easy drinker.
