473 mL can from the LCBO; coded Apr 7 2020 and served slightly chilled.
Pours a slightly foggy, pale yellow colour, generating one finger of soapy, frothy white head that lasts for a minute or two. It leaves behind a decent curtain of lace, as well as a narrow collar and filmy layer on the surface. The Motueka hops impart a noticeable hint of lemon-lime zest, on top of a grainy, crackery pale malt backdrop with suggestions of apple.
This is a very solid light lager - I'm tasting crackery pale malts and cereal grains, but surprisingly it's the citrusy lemon-lime hop aspects that stick out to me. It finishes with lingering hints of grainy malt and lime zest, preceding a relatively dry conclusion. Light in body, with middling carbonation that provides a little bit of a bit to the texture; feels frothy and soft on the palate, with excellent drinkability.
Final Grade: 3.64, a passable B grade. Mill Street's Big Little Lager is better than most light beers, and if you're seeking out something of that ilk then this beer is well worth trying. A straightforward beer - not quite one-dimensional, so let's go with one and a half dimensions: the malt bill is kind of thin, but the hops shine through adequately. I would absolutely take this over their Organic Lager, but probably not their Pilsner.

Pours pale hay colour. A bit of a head. Very low in the taste department. Mouthfeel is also watery. But this is what you get with a light lager
