473 mL can from the LCBO; one of six in their Essentials mixed pack. Coded Jun 25 2020 and served barely chilled.
Pours pinkish-orange, hazy and translucent; roughly one finger of foamy, bubbly white head fizzles off within sixty seconds or so, leaving behind a thin collar and some patchy islets of film, but no lacing. There's just a little twinge of lemony tartness on the nose, as well as some cherry juice and maybe a faint wisp of wheaty malt. It's so muted that it might as well be muzzled.
Inoffensive and pretty forgettable. Hints of wheaty malts serve mostly as a background presence, with cherry being the other major component - sweeter towards the forefront, with a mildly sour tilt developing nearer the finish, which includes a touch of cherry pit spiciness. Light in body, with lively carbonation that prickles the palate, giving this brew a crisp, satisfying mouthfeel. This beer does have its share of flaws, but in all honesty it's extremely refreshing and easily gulped back, with its drinkability being through the roof.
Final Grade: 3.57, a B. Mill Street's Sour Neighbour is technically a sour, but in practice it barely qualifies - meanwhile, the fruit/cherry elements aren't quite compelling enough to fill in the vacuum, resulting in a mostly underwhelming experience. Don't get me wrong, it's perfectly acceptable as a summer refresher on the patio or whatever, and I suppose I'd recommend this to cherry beer fans specifically looking for a sessionable brew in that vein. As for that mixed pack, I wouldn't buy it specifically for this - though if you're curious and don't mind the occasional Tankhouse, West Coast IPA or 100th Meridian, it might be a worthwhile investment.

Not cherry enough, not sour enough. All the cherry is in the nose and it's not a lot. U
There's a hint to taste and just a wee bit of sourness. Pretty light, easy going stuff, dinkable, not so memorable.
