Our Session IPA is of the New England variety, with lower alcohol and less bitterness when compared to the more traditional style. The beer is sessionable while making no compromises on flavour. Session IPA is bursting with big fruit-forward hop flavours and a smooth mouthfeel.

473 mL can from the LCBO; coded Feb 24 2022 and served slightly chilled.
Pours a foggy pale yellow colour, generating one finger of loose, soapy white head that collapses in two or three minutes' time. A lovely curtain of messy lace is tossed about in its wake, with a frothy collar and sudsy cap surviving in place afterwards - it's a good-looking beer, I'll give it that. The nose is understated, including notes of mandarin orange, floral hops and bubble gum, underlain by a clean, wheaty pale malt backbone and a hint of pineapple.
It's a tasty pale ale - the orange peel figures in prominently, lending a distinctly citrusy bent to the flavour profile. Tangerine, pineapple and grapefruit, with a grainy, wheaty malt sweetness off in the background; suggestions of papaya later on, with floral, weakly piney hop bitterness rounding out the finish. Fruity, citrusy aftertaste that loiters on the taste buds briefly. Light in body, with firm carbonation and a spritzy, crisp mouthfeel - refreshing to drink & effortlessly easy to gulp back, as any session beer should be.
Final Grade: 3.81, a B+. Mill Street's Session IPA comes off as subdued, but pretty serviceable overall: good balance, enjoyably citrusy, and definitely not too bitter - a pale ale that I could envision myself actually sessioning at some point. I'll have to try this alongside their (also relatively new) Hazy Organic IPA and see which one I prefer... at the moment I'm leaning towards this one. Worth a try if you spot it.

Pours a hazy straw colour with a large fluffy white head up top. Nice lacing too. Smell is tropical fruity and hoppy bitter. That describes the taste too, with passionfruit and grassy notes. Mouthfeel is quite dry
