Pours hazy light bronze with a chunky, everlasting head. The aroma is of tropical, mango, pineapple hops and cookie dough malts. Pineapple, lemon, papaya, passionfruit, mango hop flavors in the taste, countered by a bready, caramel malt profile. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with creamy light carbonation. Moderate bitterness and loads of tropical hops in the long finish.
Brewed with Phantasm powder, it's a dank and complex NEIPA. A must try.

Pours gold coloured, just a wee bit hazy, with a thick gooey head on top. A strange sweet smell. A candy-like sweetness on the taste, actually quite nice.

473 ml can served cold into a pint glass. LCBO purchase for around $3.80 CDN. Coded as H10T22. Thinking that's August 10, 2022.
Appearance - Ruddy golden / bronze color with some haze. Three fingers of eggshell white head, lots of foam and frothiness with good staying power.
Smell - Little bit of citrus, maybe mango with some apple skin and a distinct grape quality too. Non-traditional in aroma, but with good depth.
Taste - Hmmm... medium bitterness, that has an element of mango and maybe lychee. Apple skin again and definitely some white wine qualities with grapey-ness. A little must. More pale ale than traditional NEIPA for sure. Slight bit of metallic flavors here and there too.
Mouthfeel - Medium bodied, Semi-dry finish. Carbonation seems pretty low. Decent enough overall feel.
Overall - 1 in 12 is a decent enough brew, although it is very much not a traditional NEIPA in any respect as the juiciness leans more towards grapey-ness and while the beer isn't terribly bitter it's almost a merging of a fruit beer and an IPA. Strange and doesn't do it for me, but happy to have tried and it's good to see Mill Street back pushing the envelope a little bit.

473 mL can from the LCBO; coded Aug 10 2022 and served slightly chilled.
Pours a foggy golden-yellow colour, generating nearly two fingers of bubbly, foamy white head that lasts for a little more than five minutes. A webbed pattern of lacing adheres to the glass, with a tight collar and sudsy cap lingering on - looks good to me. There are notes of white grape skin and mustiness on the nose, as well as an herbal, piney quality - I'm also getting subtler suggestions of orange, papaya, mango and hop spiciness.
The Phantasm does add a 'grape-y' bent to the profile, but it's the trio of Mosaic, Vic Secret and Azacca hops that dominate. I'm getting orange, passion fruit, pineapple and mango, along with a sweet, grainy wheat and white grape backdrop that lasts throughout the sip. A modest smack of herbal, piney bitterness at the finish, with hints of tropical fruit and grape dissipating into the aftertaste; the 7% is not exactly discernible, and thus well-hidden. Medium-full in body, with light carbonation that provides some frothiness to this brew's very smooth, soft and satisfying mouthfeel.
Final Grade: 3.82, a worthy B+. I found 1 in 12 to be a very mellow & agreeable IPA, as the Phantasm/grape-like flavours co-operate nicely with its hop profile. Fruity sweetness countered by sturdy hop bitterness, with all the strength that comes with being a 7% pale ale - I found this extraordinarily drinkable, and would definitely pick it up again. This is one of Mill Street's best pale ales in quite some time, and I'd encourage other BAs to give it a try.
