Crafted like a perfect playlist (or mixtape), this session IPA hits all the right notes. A balanced blend of Cashmere, Taiheke and Motueka hops creates a crisp harmony of citrus notes and tropical flavours.

At my lady Pamela's house; canned and chilled, 473mL in a pint glass. From The Roundhouse Centre LCBO on Howard Ave. in nearby Windsor. Lot number A13T52. My 9th beer from the Toronto, Ontario brewery, and 6th for 2025. Ridiculously embraced by Sundae the cat...

Pours a thin foam head. Light gold color. Smells of pineapple and a little hoppy.
Taste is ok, but not really anything standing out compared to most of these other IPA's I've had lately. A little bit of hops and bitter citrous rind.
It's fine but I wouldn't take it over a bunch of other recent beers I've been drinking. Very middle of the road.

I was offered half a can of this. Seeing Mill Street of course made me skeptical, as, you know, it's Mill Street.
Luckily, it wasn't horrible. Not good, but at least drinkable.
The nose is of malt. The taste is the same, with some faint hops. Rather characterless.

473 mL can from the LCBO; coded Mar 6 2024 and served barely chilled.
Pours a foggy pale yellow colour, producing an inch of soapy, bubbly white head that lasts for three minutes or so. It scatters some stringy lace about as it recedes down to a narrow collar and sudsy, frothy cap. Citrusy aroma of lemon zest, grapefruit and lime, with hints of wheat, melon and grassiness.
The flavours are along the same line - citrusy hops first and foremost, leaning heavy on the lemon-lime combo, adding hints of grapefruit, melon and maybe a touch of mango; its malt backbone is wheaty and a little grainy. Finishes pithy and a little herbal, with lime and melon quickly dissipating into a fairly dry aftertaste. Light in body, with assertive carbonation that contributes to its crisp mouthfeel; easy to pour down the hatch, and fairly refreshing to do so.
Final Grade: 3.73, a B grade. Mill Street has released at least half a dozen different session IPAs over the last several years, but I don't recall any of them actually 'catching on' and becoming permanent fixtures in their lineup. Spin Session IPA isn't noticeably better than any of their previous attempts, but it isn't any worse, either. If that assessment comes off as a long-winded way of saying 'meh', that's because it pretty much is. I have no strong feelings about this beer, at all - it's a serviceable, unobjectionable choice, and totally unremarkable for a session IPA.
