Type: 16-oz. can
Reviewed as: New England Triple / Imperial IPA
Glass: Pure Project 16-oz. Spiegelau IPA glass
Price: $6.29 (10 pct. of. $6.99)
From: San Diego Wine & Beer Co.
Purchased: Feb. 15, 2022
Consumed: March 4, 2022
Misc.: Collaboration with Beerthuglife; No canned on date
Stopped at San Diego Wine & Beer Company on the way home from a work function. Intended to pick up six cans to get the 10 pct. off but almost $60 later I came away with eight cans. Untappd description was “Collaboration with Beer Thug Life Loaded with Galaxy and a touch of Citra and El Dorado this triple hazy is a juice bomb.”
Poured a light golden hazy color with 6-to-7 fingers of rocky white head. Could see some bubble streams coming up along the sides of the glass. World-class foamy spotty lacing. Perfect retention. (Sight - 4.75)
Smelled a tad old, but I wouldn’t know because there isn’t a canned on date. El Dorado stood out, followed by Jolly Rancher Watermelon candy, lemon, herbal, menthol, Galaxy, peach blossom, floral, passion fruit, Fruity Pebbles, pineapple and orange rind. Smelled a little better as it went down. Just as good out of the can. (Smell - 3.75)
Tasted almost as good as the nose. In order got El Dorado, viney berry, watermelon Jolly Rancher candy, passion fruit, Fruity Pebbles, bitter orange rind, lemon, herbal, menthol, Galaxy, peach blossom, bubblegum, pear and pineapple. (Taste - 3.75)
Medium body. Creamy texture. Lively carbonation. Bitter finish. (Feel - 4.00)
Definitely underrated this overall but it was really good. (Overall - 4.00)
