The Lunar Brewing Co. just put this one back up the last time I stopped in and I'm glad that they did.

The appearance is that of a rusty, amber color with a 1-2 finger head depending on your pour. The head is off-white and dissaptes kinda quickly though the lacing, like the rings on a tree, tell the tale of this pint down to the end.

The interesting mixture of fuggle hops and sea-saltiness invade the nostrils and is similar to some lighter, darker Belgium ales. The smell brings to mind dark green vegetables mixed with Irish soda bread if you can figure that one out. Also a saltiness pervades like that of a Thai Plum Soda.

Gone is the previous sweetness, up with the saltiness. Tastes like a Dragon Roll Maki which to the distinguished palate isn't too bad. The Fuggel and Goldin hops are quite apparent as they make up the foundation of this beer's taste. The finish is interesting with hints of dried cinnamon powder and nutmeg.

I picked up a growler of this stuff and the carbonation was still quite intact when I got it home, remaining crisp and snappy. The texture is the same as most medium ales and is pleasantly full-bodied.

The next time I head out to Lunar I will definetly raise a few pints of their ESB and I highly recommend it if you've never tried one of their brews before. Delicious.

I had a couple of pints of this while attending the BA gathering on 4/23/05. The beer pours a nice dark bronze with an off-white head and good lacing.

The beer has am appetizing aroma of citrus (grapefruit) and malts.

Nice fresh tasting beer. Decent hoping adds a pleasant bite that nicely balances a bit of sweetness from the malts. The beer also has a slightly earthy taste which was a bit unexpected, but still enjoyable. Some fruit (plum) flavors emerge at the end.

Soft creamy motuhfeel married with excellent low levels of carbonation. Very easy drinking session bitter. Well done!

Hazy, tawny color and ample off-white head. Aroma is very subtle and very British. The flavor is characteristically British with full, sweet malt and English noble hop flavors perfectly balanced. Mouthfeel was a bit watery, but I would not hold that against them. Finishes clean. A great session beer for those who are less hop-oriented. I could drink this beer all day long and be very happy.
